“Deciding to put our home of 32 years on the market was a big step given the state of the economy and the housing market for top dollar sales plus we had owned the house since it was built. We contacted a Real Estate agent that came very highly recommended. After looking and the house, property and the area he recommended we get in touch with Vanessa Alo at VGA Designs and have her stage the house.

Vanessa made a number of recommendations worked with us and used most of the furniture we had. When we walked into the house after Vanessa and her team had completed the transformation we were in disbelief. The placement of things, the furniture and the layout was unbelievable, Vanessa and her team had done such a great job we questioned why we were selling the place, it felt like a brand new home. It was unbelievable.

Proof of a great job is in the results: Our Realtor held a two day open house after Vanessa completed the staging and we received 7 offers with 6 of them above asking, the house sold in 7 days.

30 days after the sale of our house we had Vanessa come in and transform a second house just 1 house away from our first house. This house would be the ultimate test for Vanessa and her team since it was vacant. Two weeks later the Realtor held a 3 day open house and again much of the same results. Multiple offers and sold in 9 days for more than the asking price.

What we appreciated about working with Vanessa was that she is a very dedicated hard working lady with a down to earth attitude and understood what both the homes meant to us, the memories and what we had put into them over the years. She worked around what was important to us and explained her point of view and why she felt it important to go in her direction. Vanessa is a very talented professional, punctual and worked hand in hand with the Real Estate Agent's timeline for selling the homes. Had it not been for her talent, knowledge of design and attention to great detail we do not believe we would have gotten such great results and such a quick turn around on both homes that we sold. During the open houses on both properties our agent sent out questionnaires to all the Realtors that showed the houses and we received many good comments on the appearance and functionality of both plans.

“In April of this year we were just moving into our new house when a family emergency hit. Scrambling to complete the move so we could attend to our family, we stuffed our possessions into the house without much thought or care. A few months passed, and we found that we had never gotten around to properly organizing and arranging our new home. Now, months of living in chaos had piled up, and I was feeling very overwhelmed. I needed some professional help, but I was intimidated: Did 'normal' non-wealthy, working families ever hire interior decorators? Would the interior decorator judge the mess we had created, or turn up their nose when I requested that we buy interior design elements from Target?

I jumped on the internet to do some research and found Vanessa Alo from VGA designs. At the first consultation, I knew I had found the right person. My house was a mess, but she was personable and kind -- down-to-earth and approachable, with a keen eye for design and a hard-working ethic. She made the overwhelming task of organizing, shopping for, and redecorating our home seem manageable. She listened carefully to how we used our space, our likes and dislikes, and our budget limits and then poof! -- it was done. Well, actually it was a whole lot of work and time on her part, but it sure felt like 'poof!' from my perspective when I would come home from work to find my once disorganized and not-so-attractive space transformed into something both beautiful and functional. I started out thinking I would just do the office or my son's room and ended up having Vanessa do almost the whole house. (The only rooms she didn't touch were the kitchen, bath, and laundry room.)

So, the moral of the story is this: Vanessa is awesome. If you need organizing or decorating done, hire her! You won't regret it. Don't be nervous, embarrassed, or worry that 'people like you' don't have interior decorators, because Vanessa feels more like a really great, creative girlfriend who is available to help you out. Maybe she should change her tagline to: 'Design without the Diva' because that's what she is -- all the great, creative, wonderful things you need in an interior designer without all the snooty-attitude.
